What is the focus of Business Requirements Gathering?

A Business requirements elicitation (also known as Requirements Gathering or Capture) is the process of generating a list of requirements (functional, technical, etc.) from the different stakeholders that they will use as the basis of the requirement definition. This process is not that much easy because some of the stakeholders are not aware of the requirements required for the project.

It is because writing and verbal communication helps both business analyst and the stakeholders to understand the requirements completely. Written requirements provide a blueprint of the requirements for better understanding. As a result, the cost for future maintenance reduced because the maintainers know why these requirements exist.

  1. Pawandeep Kaur: i want to talk more about some business problems. As per my perspective lack of access to end user is also a big issue. Because there are some projects in which stakeholders and IT management think that they understand the requirements and what happens in the business and do not allow the business analyst to have direct access to the end user. Off course the bad requirements are also big problem for the success of the business because if the requirements are bad as incomplete, not verifiable etc. and when stakeholders analytic the denouements that is a bad impact. so i believe that the solutions should be clarified always be prepare before going to do any kind of activity.
